This lively character is working hard to entertain. Found on St. Swithun’s building in Magdalen College, Oxford, he is one of many humorous and imaginative gargoyles which must have kept the stonemasons amused during its construction. During medieval and Tudor times musicians, troubadours, jugglers and jesters travelled to courts and around the country providing popular entertainment.
