DESIGNER'S NOTES
This woven Fox & Chave silk tie features a repeat of a Lion & Unicorn standard in gold over a royal blue ground.
The lion and the unicorn are two of the most iconic heraldic symbols in history. They first appeared on the coat of arms of King James I in the early 17th century at the formation of the United Kingdom. They were later incorporated into the royal coat of arms of Queen Victoria, and have since become an enduring symbol of the British monarchy.
The English Lion, often referred to as the "King of Beasts," symbolises bravery and power and represents England, while the Scottish Unicorn symbolises purity, virtue, and grace and represents Scotland.
