Bauhaus was an art school in Germany that combined crafts, fine arts and technology. It operated from 1919 until the Nazi regime closed it in 1933. Influenced by Modernism, it was marked by the absence of ornamentation and by harmony between the function of an object or a building and its design. Two prominent Bauhaus artists were Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee.
