I arise today in the power of Heaven; brightness of sun, brilliance of moon....The tile contains an extract from the 8th century liturgical Christian poem commonly known as St. Patrick’s Breastplate or Lorica. Now frequently sung as a hymn, the prayer was traditionally recited for protection on a journey. The sun is based on images from Splendor Solis, a medieval alchemical manuscript originally written in 1535.
