A Fox & Chave silk habotai scarf with a combination design of two patterns from the studio of William Morris; Compton & Wild Tulips.

The Compton design, at the center of the scarf in green with colored blooms, was created by John Henry Dearle in 1895 for Compton Hall, a Manor House near Wolverhampton, at the commission of then owner and brewery heir, Laurence Hodson.

Featured in a coral variation in this scarf, Morris registered 'Wild Tulip,' as a wallpaper design on November 21, 1884. It features small wild tulips with ribbons of larger peonies intertwining with scrolling stems.

Hand rolled hems.
