A Fox & Chave silk habotai scarf with an element of various precious stones and Tudor style jewellery derived from a page in a Flemish book of hours, produced in Ghent or Bruges c.1510 .
This kind of jewellery from the Renaissance period saw a revival in the late Victorian era, sometimes referred to as the neo-Renaissance movement, that informed much design and art at that time. The jewellery was often referred to as Holbeinesque, after the kind depicted in the portraits of figures from the Tudor period by the artist Hans Holbein the Younger, who also left detailed drawings of some pieces.
